Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or high-traffic situations.
Prior experience in a similar role (such as crossing guard, security, or traffic control) is a plus but not required.
REPORTS TO: Assigned Principal POSITION SUMMARY: Cambridge Lakes Charter School is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a School Safety Liaison. This part-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of students, staff, and families during school dismissal by serving as a traffic director and/or crossing guard. The position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to school safety and enjoy working outdoors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct traffic to ensure a smooth and safe flow of vehicles during student dismissal.
Assist students and families in safely crossing streets and navigating school grounds.
Follow and enforce school traffic safety policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to maintain a safe environment.
Report any safety concerns, traffic violations, or incidents to school administration.
Remain vigilant and attentive to ensure student and pedestrian safety at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires standing for extended periods of time Exposure to various weather conditions TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: Excludes weekends, school holidays, and summer vacation
