QC Tech - Aggregate Department: Aggregate Job Title: QC Tech Work Schedule: Day shift, flexible hours. Overtime as required. Full or Part Time: Full time only Reports to: Operations Manager Salary: $24.00 - $31.00 Build the foundation of tomorrow. What You'll Do: Collect and test aggregate materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone to ensure top-tier quality Perform both field and lab testing using industry standards (ASTM, AASHTO) Monitor production processes and partner with operations teams to maintain consistency and performance Accurately record, analyze, and communicate test results Identify quality issues early and help implement effective solutions Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure precision Support continuous improvement efforts across production and quality systems Uphold a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards What We're Looking For: High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree is a plus Experience in construction materials, aggregates, or lab testing preferred—but we're willing to train the right candidate Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset Comfortable working both indoors (lab) and outdoors (plant/quarry environments) Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly Self-motivated, dependable, and a team player Why Join Us: Hands-on role with real impact on infrastructure and construction projects Opportunities for training, certifications, and career growth Work with a supportive team in a stable and essential industry Competitive pay and benefits package Dynamic work environment—no two days are the same Physical & Work Environment: Active role requiring standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in various weather conditions Combination of laboratory work and outdoor site visits Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment in a controlled, safety-focused environment Bonus Qualifications: ACI Certification NIET Certification in Materials Testing Familiarity with aggregate production processes Physical Demands: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, proximity to electrical equipment, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
