We're seeking an extremely talented Founding Product Designer to help reinvent the productivity suite for the AI era. You will be responsible for defining and executing the entire user experience of Spell from the ground up, ensuring a delightful and intuitive product for our users. You must have experience designing early-stage, consumer-grade UI/UX/product designs for products that have scaled to millions of users You are the kind of designer who thrives on creating entire UI systems from scratch – because that's exactly what you'll be doing here You don't need an existing design system or UI patterns. You'll create them from scratch and execute at an extremely high level of quality You will be the champion for design excellence at Spell, ensuring everything we ship meets the highest level of polish, while also maintaining shipping velocity across the team Expect talented, motivated, intense, and interesting co-workers. The person who steps into this role will have a meaningful impact on Spell, and therefore your compensation will include meaningful equity ownership. These are the universal tools, and we believe AI can make everyone 10x more effective in them. We're starting with a collaborative AI document editor. Picture Google Docs or MS Word with ChatGPT inside of it - that's Spell. You'll never start from a blank page again. Just tell Spell what you want to create, and it instantly generates a high quality draft for you in seconds. What used to take days or weeks now takes minutes. Spell gets you 90% of the way there, and you fine tune the rest. Our long-term vision is to build a unified, AI-native productivity suite that includes documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. These tools will share data seamlessly, so you can reference data from your sheet directly in your documents and presentations - empowering you to create faster, easier, and at a higher level of quality.
