Job Description ByteCubed is currently seeking a Big Data Engineer to work with a dynamic team building reusable SaaS components to ingest various types of data into a cloud environment using ETL tools, at our headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:
Implement aspects of application design – high-performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, state management, error logging, debugging, scalability, code reviews, environment configuration, and testing.
Perform unit and system-level testing of applications.
Develop reusable loosely-coupled software components to deploy on cloud platforms.
Implement ETL processes.
Implement business-layers as web service using Java, Spring Framework and JPA.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of related software development experience, implementation of large enterprise systems or distributed computing environment
Proficiency in Java, Spring, JPA and Hibernate.
Proficiency in ETL development using tools such as Pentaho.
Experience in solving big-data problems using Open Source technologies such as Hadoop/HDFS, Accumulo, Spark and HBase on a cloud platform.
Proficiency in RDBMS including SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle.
Proven track record of designing scalable, distributed software applications.
Object-oriented design and programming experience.
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years in Java, C#
Department of Defense SECRET security clearance.
