Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Analyst to shape the future of Caterpillar’s state‑of‑the‑art digital applications, including the Service Information System (SIS). The role gathers and documents user and client requirements, supports the development and testing of new products and services, collects feedback from business partners, and aligns with development teams and product owners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the solutions. The successful candidate will translate business needs into technical solutions that support world‑class digital experiences. What You Will Do
Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to understand business needs, clarify priorities, and translate requirements into actionable solution direction. Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, user, functional, and non‑functional requirements for SIS and related digital products and services. Create clear documentation, features, acceptance criteria, data needs, and supporting analysis to guide delivery teams through design, development, testing, and implementation. Support solution validation, user acceptance testing, issue resolution, and feedback collection to ensure delivered capabilities meet business objectives and improve customer, dealer, and employee experiences. Required Skills and Qualifications
Precision and attention to detail to maintain high levels of accuracy. Effective communication skills, including the ability to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs accurately. Experience in business data analysis, collecting, identifying, analyzing, and interpreting business data. Knowledge of business assessment activities, tasks, practices, and deliverables. Proficiency in requirements analysis tools, methods, and techniques. Technical writing skills to produce manuals, reports, guidelines, or application documents. Product design and development experience from concept through production. Research analysis skills to locate, interpret, and evaluate research findings. Knowledge of Agile practices and approaches, preferably SAFe. Proven ability to build strong business partner relationships. Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories. Understanding of technical designs and solution trade‑offs. Demonstrated success in communicating technical designs with global team members. Additional Details
Locations: Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; Denver, CO; Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance is NOT available. Visa sponsorship is NOT available. Up to 5% travel may be required. Summary Pay Range
