To support our rapid growth, CoolSys Energy Solutions (CES) is seeking an HVAC/R Outside Sales Project Engineer who will be the initial technical resource for the Internal & External Sales teams. They are responsible for actively driving and managing the “Application evaluation” stage of the sales process. The role operates as a bridge between customers and Technical/Engineering teams, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Fluid Power products. The role’s primary focus is the preparation of accurate product/project estimates while communicating requirements with customers and internal departments. Responsibilities
Work with the External & Inside Sales teams to meet and exceed customer requirements. Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications. Articulate product positioning to Sales teams and external customers, including competitor substitutions. Produce quotations for customers in a clear, detailed, and accurate manner. Provide and assist colleagues on technical and engineering issues. Negotiate and achieve deadlines for the submission of quotations. Build relationships with current and potential customers to understand their requirements. Plan job timescales and assess project risk levels. Help with bids for new contracts and support buying activities. Interpret customer performance requirements, gather proposals, specifications, and related documents, and liaise with stakeholders to convert specifications into cost estimates. Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts, and correspondence in company databases. Communicate with customers to gain feedback on quotations. Establish cost estimates of production processes and tooling costs, review alternatives, and recommend improvements. Monitor project stages to ensure costs remain in line with forecasts. Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review. Achieve relevant targets and KPIs. Pursue new business opportunities in line with strategic objectives along with the External Sales Team at existing and prospective customers. Adopt a flexible approach to workload and assume new responsibilities where appropriate. Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Aptitude for learning technical applications. Highly organized with strong attention to detail, handling multiple priorities. Ability to manage time effectively, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other internal employees. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 2‑year technical degree required or a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a field related to products and services being sold preferred. 2+ years of experience in Sales or Sales Support preferred and/or demonstrated success working with customers. Ability to work prolonged periods at a desk and on a computer. Benefits
