Overview
Availity is a leading healthcare engagement platform that provides revenue cycle and related business solutions to health care professionals. This position is located remotely in the United States. Sponsorship, in any form, is not available for this position. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage secure, high‑availability database systems in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Ensure database performance, security, and availability across active production systems. Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and optimize queries. Implement and enforce database security protocols to protect sensitive healthcare data in compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and PCI DSS. Collaborate with IT, development, and compliance teams to support business objectives. Maintain documentation for database architectures, processes, and compliance activities. Stay current with advancements in cloud database technologies and healthcare data regulations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 4+ years of database administration experience. Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MySQL; experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server is preferred. Proficiency with AWS and experience managing large fleets of AWS RDS and Aurora databases in production. Strong SQL query language skills; NoSQL experience is a plus. Knowledge of database security best practices and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, PCI DSS). Programming and scripting skills, e.g., Python, Terraform; experience with Lambda is a plus. Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty are desirable. Benefits
