What We Are Looking For The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data warehouse infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data transformations, as well as hands‑on experience with FiveTran, DBT, Snowflake, and Sigma to ensure the efficient handling and transformation of data across the organization.
What You’ll Be Doing
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data warehouse architectures using Snowflake.
Develop and optimize ETL processes using FiveTran to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Snowflake.
Utilize DBT to transform and model data within the data warehouse, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Integrate and visualize data using Sigma to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Ensure data integrity and quality by implementing data validation and cleansing processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure data is delivered accurately and on time.
Implement best practices for data modeling, data integration, and performance optimization.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data warehouse architecture, ETL processes, and data flows.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data engineering, data warehousing, and related technologies.
Provide support and guidance to junior data engineers and other team members as needed.
Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.
This is an individual contributor role without any direct report and will report to the Chief Information Officer.
Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
IT Certifications a plus
Experience:
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data warehouses.
Talents and Desired Qualifications
Strong knowledge of data warehouse data modeling, including star schema, snowflake schema, and data vault modeling.
Proficiency with Snowflake and experience in designing scalable data warehouse solutions.
Experience with ETL tools such as FiveTran and data transformation tools like DBT.
Familiarity with Sigma or similar data visualization tools.
Strong understanding of data transformation techniques, data integration, and data quality best practices.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL-based data warehouse platforms.
Familiarity with additional cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Must be able to communicate to employees and management.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a global, deadline driven and fast paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
