- Project Exec/Specialist (18 months) This is a great opportunity if you are passionate about supporting Ireland's transition to low carbon heat.
This is a research and delivery role within a decarbonised heat and bioenergy research team.
The focus is on shaping policy, building evidence and supporting long term heat decarbonisation strategy.
This role will suit someone who can combine technical knowledge with strong analysis and stakeholder engagement.
The Role: You will support research, policy development and programme delivery across heat decarbonisation.
Key areas will include: Support development of Local Heating and Cooling Plans aligned to EU and national frameworks.
Work with stakeholders to shape practical guidance for implementation.
Contribute to the National Heating and Cooling Assessment through data analysis and insight generation.
Provide technical input across projects focused on decarbonising heat.
Translate complex analysis into clear and actionable recommendations.
Manage external consultants and support project delivery.
Support programme tracking and internal processes.
You will bring strong technical grounding with the ability to apply it commercially.
You can assess data, challenge assumptions and produce clear outputs.
You are credible with stakeholders and able to influence across different groups.
You are comfortable working across research, policy and delivery.
Essential Experience Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Energy Systems or a related STEM field.
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in renewable energy, decarbonised heat or energy efficiency.
Strong analytical capability with experience evaluating data and technical options.
Experience managing projects and working across multidisciplinary teams.
Track record delivering technical reports to varied audiences.
You will be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship for at least 18 months from July 2026.
Desirable Experience Experience assessing low carbon alternatives to fossil fuels in heating.
Project management training or certification.
Understanding of EU and national energy policy and regulation.
Experience with data analysis, modelling or techno economic assessment.
Knowledge of heat, energy and climate research landscape.
Experience working with government, industry or community stakeholders.
Exposure to policy or strategy development.
Irish language capability is an advantage.
The Offer Salary €53,071 per annum and this role is for 18 months.
29 days annual leave plus public holidays working on a 35 hour week Hybrid working with 2 days in the office which can be in Dublin, Cork, Dundalk and Sligo.
