- €100,000 DOE Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Overview BSS is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-established building contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects throughout Leinster.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing business and take ownership of the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager and Company Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities Manage all commercial aspects of construction projects from tender stage through to final account.
Prepare and review cost plans, budgets, estimates, and Bills of Quantities.
Undertake pre-contract cost planning, procurement, and commercial evaluations.
Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, and final accounts.
Prepare monthly valuations, cost reports, and commercial forecasts.
Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
Attend client, contractor, and design team meetings as required.
Prepare and negotiate variations and change orders.
Manage interim applications, payment recommendations, and final account agreements.
Support Project Managers and site teams in achieving project commercial objectives.
Ensure projects are delivered within budget and maximise commercial performance.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the commercial function.
Requirements Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor or equivalent construction-related qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a main contractor, developer, or PQS practice.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management processes.
Proven experience managing project costs from inception through to final account.
Strong negotiation, reporting, and analytical skills.
Commercially focused with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Full clean driving licence.
