POSITION SUMMARY An Enterprise Sales Representative at Ironsmith Fire plays a critical role in driving profitable growth and developing long‑term business relationships within the fire protection industry. The position is responsible for identifying opportunities, developing accurate and competitive estimates, reviewing project requirements, and supporting the successful transition of awarded work into operations. The role requires a strong technical understanding of fire protection systems and the ability to manage opportunities from initial development through project award. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / OBJECTIVES Develop, maintain, and grow enterprise‑level relationships within the fire protection industry. Identify business opportunities, generate leads, and support profitable sales growth. Prepare accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for fire protection projects and service opportunities. Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to develop complete and competitive proposals. Perform quantity takeoffs, material reviews, and scope analysis for fire sprinkler and fire protection systems. Utilize fire protection design knowledge to review system layouts, specifications, code requirements, and constructability considerations. Coordinate with design, operations, and project management teams to support successful project handoff and execution. Conduct site visits, project walkthroughs, and preconstruction meetings as needed. Develop and maintain proposal documentation, estimate files, bid records, and correspondence. Support pricing strategy discussions, scope development, value engineering, and alternate pricing options. Review applicable NFPA standards, local code requirements, and project specifications during estimate preparation. Monitor bid deadlines and ensure proposals are completed and submitted timely. Understand project execution risks, including scheduling, supply chain concerns, labor considerations, and installation challenges. Maintain awareness of industry trends, code changes, market conditions, and competitive developments. Promote a team‑oriented environment focused on professionalism, accountability, responsiveness, and operational excellence. COMPETENCIES Comprehensive understanding of fire protection systems, building codes, local regulations, and industry standards. Strong estimating, proposal development, business development, and strategic account management skills. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Capacity to coordinate projects, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with internal teams to support successful project execution. Ability to stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to adapt strategies and identify opportunities. Aptitude for identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the sales process, estimating phase, or project execution. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software, and CRM systems. Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and results‑driven mindset. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years of fire protection industry experience required. Fire sprinkler design experience required with demonstrated competency in the full scope of fire protection system design. Strong estimating and proposal development experience required. Comprehensive understanding of fire sprinkler systems, plans, specifications, and project execution. Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships and support profitable growth initiatives. Professional certifications related to fire protection, such as NICET Certification, are advantageous.
