This position leads our Clinical Informatics Business Analysts and guides agency-wide initiatives for our electronic health record system. It is a key leadership role that blends clinical expertise, workflow development, and system optimization to support high-quality services and reliable, accurate documentation across the organization.
What You Will Do
Provide leadership for the Clinical Informatics Business Analysts and partner with clinical teams to strengthen EHR use, develop training, and support effective workflows.
Collaborate with Reimbursement Services, the system administrator, and Compliance and Risk Management to ensure the EHR meets clinical, regulatory, and billing requirements.
Serve as a business analyst for at least one program by configuring and maintaining clinical content in the NextGen EHR and supporting data-driven decision making.
Lead and participate in efforts focused on system configuration, auditing, new program implementation, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and support disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning.
Provide training and respond to helpdesk needs as required.
Provides direction to align technology with the organization’s strategy, priorities, and business needs.
Develop processes and policies to ensure compliance with federal and state systems and regulations.
Lead efforts to apply new and existing technology to business processes, providing expertise on technical trends and external practices.
Manage business process activities for the systems development life cycle for new or existing complex systems.
Identify and maintain key performance measures for business processes associated with technical systems.
Manage workgroups that document system requirements and specifications for system technical support members.
Manage staff performing functional testing during solution implementation to ensure correct operation and user satisfaction.
Determine appropriate system life cycle techniques and methods for implementation.
Supervise delivery of training classes to user groups.
Evaluate, prioritize, and educate others on the technical implications of requested changes and improvements.
Communicate with other IT functional areas to inform senior management of progress and user issues requiring resolution.
Stay abreast of technology changes.
What We Are Looking For An experienced professional with strong clinical knowledge, excellent critical thinking skills, and a passion for improving health information systems. Someone who can lead a team, communicate effectively with staff at all levels, and translate clinical needs into efficient workflows and system enhancements.
Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:
Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, business administration, or a related field; plus five years of experience in information systems and process redesign, managing and implementing all phases of the systems development life cycle, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
Necessary Special Requirements
Complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and sanction screening to the employer’s satisfaction. A TB screening upon hire.
Positions with financial responsibility may require additional background or credit checks as a condition of hiring and periodically thereafter.
This position is emergency/essential services personnel and is required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of clinical informatics experience in the Behavioral Health/SUD Setting.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
5+ years of testing EHR IT systems, including writing test scripts.
Familiar with the NextGen EHR software (5+ years of usage).
Experience with workflow and process improvement.
Experience supervising and leading teams.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
RN licensure.
Physical Requirements Ability to travel to CSB sites to provide coaching, training, and support; communicate clearly orally and in writing; use keyboard‑driven equipment; and carry equipment weighing no more than 25 pounds. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
Selection Procedure Panel interview and may include a practical exercise.
