Principal Antenna Engineer Mayflower Communications Company is a technology leader in the research and development of GPS (Global Positioning System) related hardware and software, including specialized receivers, anti‑jam systems, and other advanced products for government and commercial markets. Our ongoing work in high performance anti‑jam solutions and integrated communication/navigation systems continues to create career opportunities for talented individuals interested in the development of cutting‑edge technologies.
Mayflower seeks a Principal Antenna Engineer to develop GNSS multi‑element antenna array designs to support Mayflower GNSS anti‑jam products. This applicant should have the ability to design, model, and analyze multi‑element arrays of monopoles, loops, dipoles, and other innovative microwave element structures. Antenna modeling expertise with HFSS is desired. The candidate must have experience designing impedance‑matched antennas and tuning circuits to impedance match antenna arrays over multiple bands, as well as modeling and measuring antenna active impedance. Experience in GNSS bands is a plus. The candidate must have experience designing antennas for fabrication and maturing them into a final product. Experience in RF system‑level design including LNAs, mixers, filters, amplifiers, PLLs, VCOs, I/Q modulators, and RF dividers is also a plus.
Proficiency with laboratory measurements and equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, noise figure analyzers, and power meters is required. The candidate must also be proficient with measuring antenna patterns in an anechoic chamber.
Required Skills and Education:
S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with experience in electromagnetics and antenna design, modeling, and development. Responsibilities will be commensurate with the level of education and experience.
Proficiency with anechoic chamber antenna pattern measurements and laboratory measurements using equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, noise figure analyzers, power meters, and oscilloscopes is expected.
Antenna modeling and design experience.

Integrated GPS/INS/ Vision Sensor Engineer We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual interested and capable of contributing to furthering Mayflower’s integrated GPS, inertial sensors, vision/visual‑aided, and other navigation sensor design and advanced technologies for the emerging markets.
The job involves research, design and development in the area of GPS and GPS/INS/vision sensor‑based navigation filters for real‑time implementation in resilient PNT (position, navigation and timing) systems when GPS is challenged and/or denied. The candidate is expected to come up with better algorithms/techniques in this area and evaluate their performance through simulations. The ideal candidate will also provide support in real‑time implementations of these algorithms on the target platforms involving digital signal processors and general‑purpose microprocessors.
Although the current job requires design/analyses experience in GPS/INS/vision‑based navigation filter design techniques, the successful candidate is expected to support the ongoing research in anti‑jam and other navigation‑warfare sensor designs.
Qualifications:
Position requires a Ph.D./MS in Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years work experience in the design and implementation of integrated real‑time extended Kalman filters, knowledge of GPS system operation is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in digital signal processing are a plus.
The job requires work onsite at Mayflower facilities in Bedford, MA.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Experience:
Strong mathematical background with analytical skills.
Working experience with MATLAB/Python is a must.
Prior experience in design and analysis of navigation filters for GPS and GPS/INS systems is desired.
Background in designing extended Kalman filters is desirable.
Programming experience with C/C++ is a plus.
Senior Embedded Software Engineer The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will participate in the design and development of advanced technologies and products related to our GPS anti‑jam, and wireless communication systems for military applications. He or she will also write and maintain project related design documentation, participate in design reviews, and handle other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded real‑time software development.
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance.
Excellent C/C++ Programming skills in Windows and/or Linux environment.
Experience in real‑time embedded software design and development including knowledge of real‑time operating systems, state‑of‑the‑art microcontrollers and hardware/software integration, and laboratory debugging skills is essential.
Ability to implement and optimize digital signal processing / algorithms working closely with Systems Engineers in the above specified technologies is desired.
Responsibilities:
Architecting, designing, implementing, validating and integrating application‑specific integrated circuit (ASIC) or field‑programmable gate array (FPGA) logic designs including interface logic, control logic and digital signal processing (DSP) in support of Mayflower’s ongoing GPS anti‑jam development efforts.
Authoring and maintaining ASIC/FPGA design specifications and test‑plans.
Working closely with design verification engineers, system engineers, software engineers and digital hardware engineers in the implementation, integration and testing of DSP in the target hardware.
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
8 years of experience (post‑B.S. degree) or 5 years of experience (with M.S. degree) in ASIC or FPGA design.
ASIC or FPGA or RTL design experience using SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL (SystemVerilog or Verilog preferred).
ASIC/FPGA SoC design skills with understanding of ASIC or FPGA tools and flows.
ASIC experience with Cadence or Synopsys tools or FPGA experience with Xilinx, Altera and/or Actel devices and flows.
Experienced with simulation tools such as Questa from Mentor.
Hands‑on knowledge of high‑speed timing and timing closure.
Familiarity of ARM processors and AMBA bus protocols.
Working knowledge of digital designs including state machines, FFTs, and DDCs and high‑speed digital I/Os such as DDR3, I2C and SPI.
Knowledge of basic signal processing concepts (MATLAB), implementing signal processing algorithms and positioning/navigation systems desired.
Previous experience related to military/aerospace design techniques.
