Job Description As a Solutions Design Practice Manager (Individual Contributor/Team Lead) for DHL Supply Chain, you will lead complex projects to provide innovative and cost‑effective supply chain solutions to our clients. You will collaborate with sales, operations, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver high‑quality solutions that meet or exceed client expectations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices in solution design, managing team resources, and ensuring continuous improvement in the solutions design process.
Responsibilities
Independently lead and support high‑efficiency, high‑quality solution development across core, special and complex projects. Leverage subject matter expertise and strategic planning to drive outside the box, best‑in‑class solutions.
Continuously deliver project work (core or special) with high efficiency and ensure quality results in all assignments independently. Lead solution development and drive pursuit strategy.
Participate in the Sector strategic pre‑planning, approach, and overall scoping of technical / complex projects.
Manage to defined project scope and ensuring compliance with scope. Informing appropriate parties when scope changes are necessary.
Continuously sharpen and deepen knowledge and skills for mastery in key areas.
Leverage Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in high‑complexity projects and provide support to team members in their solution development efforts.
Represent Solutions Design in cost model reviews, customer meetings and customer strategy discussions, as an SME.
Use real life experience to challenge project team and deliver out of the box / best in class solutions.
Drive the direction on active projects and manage communication with stakeholders.
Conduct feasibility studies and lead research on new ways of working including investigating cutting‑edge technologies and new products or improving existing technologies and processes.
Provide support to team members: share expertise, best practices and overall guidance.
Ensure visibility and relationship building to multiple Team Leads, Sr. Directors/VP and outside SD to the business.
Proficient presentation and selling both directly to the customer and indirectly through industry.
Actively develop customer and stakeholder relationships within the pursuit.
Provide active support, seamless execution and deployment in our internal initiatives, for example, masterplan activities; whether in a leading or supporting role.
Produce projects with high‑quality standards.
Actively seek ways to improve processes and enhance project quality (both internally and externally) through innovation and a winnability mindset.
Team Lead Responsibilities
Develop and build high performing teams to support high‑efficiency, high‑quality solution development across core, special and complex projects. Leverage resources effectively based on expertise and strategic planning to drive outside the box, best‑in‑class solutions.
Lead strategic pre‑planning, approach, and overall scoping for your projects as well as your teams.
Leveraging strengths of team for a well‑rounded solution and for a more powerful result.
Represent Solutions Design in cost model reviews, customer meetings and customer strategy discussions to support your team.
Manage stakeholders for both your projects and your teams' projects.
Individual and team compliance to SD ways of work (i.e., DCIs, SOWs, workbooks, etc.)
Stay up to date on administrative tasks to successfully run the team (i.e. forecasting, vacation, etc.).
Monitor and evaluate both personal and team members' projects to ensure they meet high‑quality standards.
Encourage and support team to actively seek ways to improve processes and enhance project quality (both internally and externally) through innovation and a winnability mindset.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, or a related field, required.
At least 7 years of experience in supply chain management or logistics, with a focus on solutions design and development, required.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in supply chain management, including Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies, required.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines, required.
Demonstrated develop fellow team members, providing guidance, coaching, mentoring to support professional growth, required.
