About the Role

As a Toddler Teacher at Merryhill School, you’ll play a central role in nurturing the growth, curiosity, and early development of our youngest learners. Toddlers thrive with structure, exploration, and warm, responsive caregiving—and your classroom will provide the secure, joyful spaces they need to build confidence and independence.

You will also:

  • Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum focused on sensory exploration, early language, gross and fine motor development, and social-emotional growth

  • Foster a consistent and comforting daily routine that supports toddlers’ need for structure and security

  • Encourage independence through gentle guidance, responsive caregiving, and purposeful play

  • Collaborate with fellow early childhood educators and school leadership to ensure alignment in instructional practices and care standards

  • Communicate daily with parents through verbal updates, digital reports, and informal check-ins

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment aligned with licensing standards and school policies

What We’re Looking For

  • 12 semester (or 18 quarter) units in Early Childhood Education, including coursework in child development, curriculum, and family/community

  • Experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care setting preferred

  • Deep patience, nurturing instincts, and a genuine love for toddlers and early learning

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with both children and families
