Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a Certified Surgical Technologist. This full-time role with on-call responsibilities offers an opportunity to support surgical teams by providing expert care before, during, and after procedures. General Summary The Surgical Technologist collaborates closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other surgical staff to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency. Utilizing sterile techniques and specialized equipment, you will assist surgeons in performing a variety of surgical interventions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare surgical cases accurately using physician preference cards and appropriate instruments. Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support surgical procedures. Maintain aseptic technique, demonstrate manual dexterity, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team. Operate sterilization equipment following established protocols. Monitor implantable devices ensuring sterility and proper function. Inspect and verify equipment functionality prior to procedures. Handle surgical tools, tables, cautery units, and specialty equipment with care. Work independently, manage time efficiently, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Perform delegated tasks under the direct supervision of the surgeon to uphold quality and patient safety. Education Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required. Experience Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Nurse is preferred but not mandatory. Certification and Licenses
Current Surgical Technologist Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Mental and Physical Requirements This role demands considerable mental focus and physical stamina, including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Expect regular exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids, as well as occasional interactions with hostile individuals. Physical discomfort is minimal but present.
