Pharmacy Technician I Position Title: Pharmacy Technician I Department: Pharmacy Reports To: Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations Position Code: 27050189 FLSA:
Non-Exempt ICPA: Covered Effective Date: Rev. 10/01/20 Grade: 4 Barrier Crimes: Covered OCC:WC:RBE:EHR: PB:Purpose of Position: Provide basic support to the Pharmacy department to include, but not limited to, taking inventory, cashiering, stocking and providing customer service.
Uphold the organization's vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization's policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules. Essential Functions:
Train to assist pharmacists with tasks that support the pharmacy operation including cleaning, organizing, and restocking supplies
Process incoming village totes, fill village stock requests and assist with transportation to the airport Provide excellent customer service by answering phones, performing the duties of a cashier, processing transactions and monitoring pharmacyrx email Receive, inventory and stock medications according to pharmacy protocols and maintain inventory of office and other pharmacy supplies Check medications for outdates, segregating outdated medications in designated area, putting away order shipments in designated locations, adhering to all storage specifications and restocking floor stock daily Fill dental and audiology bags Perform other duties as assigned Personal Traits: All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to consistently demonstrate the organization's values: integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect for traditional values, continual learning and improving, compassion, teamwork and pride. All employees should have patient/customer service skills, interpersonal skills and good communication skills. All employees should have the ability to manage their time and organize their work to ensure efficient performance. In addition, all employees should have the ability to follow policy, procedure and instructions, actively communicate with their supervisors to ensure understanding and manage their work accordingly. Finally, all employees should have the ability to understand and manage patient/customer confidentiality. Job specific skills and abilities are listed below: Above average teamwork ability Above average customer service skills Ability to manage point of sale duties Ability to multi-task Minimum RequirementsEducation Degree Program High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience General (Non-supervisory) Supervisory Amount: 0 year(s) working in a pharmacy setting 0 (years) Type: Must have both general and supervisory experience if indicated. Credentials Licensure, Certification, Etc. Valid AK Driver's License, Must apply for State of Alaska Pharmacy Technician License within one week of start date Physical Requirements:• Use hands and arms to operate office or clinical equipment• Sit more than half the workday• Stand and/or walk less than half the workday• Bend, stretch, twist, crouch and/or reach• View electronic monitors for prolonged periods of time• Use hands and arms for repetitive motion tasks consistently for more than one hour at a time• Lift or carry unaided less than 25 pounds• See and hear with normal acuityWorking Conditions:• Work is conducted in a standard office environment• Minimal travel is required (less than 25% of the time)• Travel is required via large aircraft• Travel is required via small (less than 16 passenger) aircraft I attest that I do not have any physical, mental or medical impairment or disability that would limit my job performance.
