Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and essential patient care in a perioperative setting. As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), you will work under the guidance of licensed nurses to deliver direct support to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their care journey. Key Responsibilities
Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes to licensed nursing staff. Perform basic patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities. Collaborate closely with nursing personnel to meet patient needs promptly and enhance the overall patient experience. Accurately document all patient care activities to support clinical decision-making and quality outcomes. Effectively communicate relevant patient information to the healthcare team to improve care coordination. Education High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience At least one year of experience in a patient care role is preferred. Requirements
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential preferred; if uncertified or with less than one year of experience, completion of a PCA training academy is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided. Physical demands include lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, and various movements such as bending, twisting, and reaching. Work environment involves exposure to infectious diseases and occasional interaction with challenging individuals.
