Description Status: Full Time Shift: Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm Exempt: Yes Summary: Primarily responsible for the ongoing design, build, update/upgrade implementation, maintenance and optimization of designated Epic application(s). In addition, and to the extent assigned, responsible for training environment build and/or maintenance, training material development, end-user training and/or any other work necessary to support the effective training of others in designated application(s). Other information REQUIRED : EPIC CARE INPATIENT ORDERS Current Healthcare Licensure in state of practice. 1 year clinical healthcare experience in an acute hospital setting. EPIC CARE AMBULATORY Current Healthcare Licensure in state of practice. 1 year clinical healthcare experience in an outpatient clinic setting. RADIANT Current Radiologic Technologist licensure (or other related Imaging Licensure) in state of practice. Registration as required by imaging modality. 1 year clinical healthcare experience in Radiology. WILLOW Current Pharmacy Licensure in state of practice. 1 year clinical healthcare experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. DECISION SUPPORT Current Healthcare Licensure in state of practice. 1 year clinical healthcare experience. CLIN DOCCurrent Healthcare Licensure in state of practice. 1 year recent Med-Surg/Critical Care experience or prior EPIC I/P or equivalent experience. ASAP Current Healthcare Licensure in state of practice. 1 year recent ER experience or prior EPIC ASAP or equivalent experience. STORK Current Healthcare Licensure in state of practice. 1 year recent L&D experience or prior EPIC Stork or equivalent experience. OPTIME/ANESTHESIA Current Healthcare Licensure in state of practice. 1 year recent OR or Anesthesia experience or prior EPIC Optime/Anesthesia or equivalent experience. PB PROFESSIONAL BILLING 3 years hospital or clinic experience related to claims, billing, patient access, revenue cycle and/or prior Epic Professional Billing or equivalent experience. GRAND CENTRAL/CADENCE/PRELUDE (PATIENT ACCESS) 3 years hospital/clinic experience related to patient access, registration, insurance verification, scheduling, revenue cycle and/or prior Epic Grand Central/Cadence/Prelude or equivalent experience. HOSPITAL BILLING (HB) 3 years hospital revenue cycle, hospital billing, collections, chargemaster maintenance, general ledger maintenance, and/or Epic Hospital Billing or equivalent experience. HIM 3 years hospital health information management department experience, coding, survey compliance, release of information and/or Epic HIM or equivalent experience. EDUCATION High school diploma/equivalent or graduate of applicable clinical program required. Certification in applicable EMR application(s) or other software or completes training and obtains such certification(s) in timeframes scheduled and required by North Oaks; Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel skills; High aptitude for review and comprehension of technical information; Excellent communication skills; Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment; Must be able to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Thorough understanding of HIPAA and other applicable regulatory requirements. Qualifications and Experience (Preferred/Required) EPIC CARE INPATIENT ORDERS EPIC CARE AMBULATORY RADIANT WILLOW DECISION SUPPORT CLIN DOCC ASAP STORK OPTIME/ANESTHESIA PB PROFESSIONAL BILLING GRAND CENTRAL/CADENCE/PRELUDE (PATIENT ACCESS) HOSPITAL BILLING (HB) HIM Education or certifications related to training others; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare or Information Technology; RHIA or RHIT credential preferred; Master’s degree in related field may be preferred. Responsibilities Builds optimizes and maintains designated applications in all designated environments (e.g. test, training, production, etc). Organizes and prioritizes application build activities in collaboration with IT department leadership and respective department leadership throughout health system. Understands applicable hardware integration concepts to demonstrate hardware use and build that supports workflows; identifies potential integration opportunities and/or issues. Assists with ensuring participation of the appropriate clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in build activities. Interfaces with leadership and subject matter experts to understand workflows and end-user needs and translates knowledge into system design and materials. Maintains competency and pursues learning opportunities related to the applications. Attends training and completes related projects and tests to obtain and maintain applicable certification(s) and/or skills. Provides input to translate optimal future-state workflows into system design. Follows naming and numbering conventions and security classifications. Tests build in a structured manner and documents results for change control. Reviews update documentation and provides insight to ensure best project strategy. Provides demonstrations of system functionality as needed. Serves as application support and subject matter expert; provides issue resolution. Represents and serves as North Oaks liaison to EMR vendors and/or third parties as directed. Documents and reports status and progress of assigned deliverables to IT leadership and others as directed. Completes work within timeline expectations with high quality output. Maintains focus on patient safety, quality measures, efficient delivery of care, system security, patient privacy and compliance. Understands Epic system capabilities and limitations to leverage functionality. Effectively communicates information to individuals and groups in verbal and visual form. Troubleshoots, researches and analyzes issues and provides practical resolution suggestions. Keeps abreast of changing technology, protocols and guidelines; facilitates changes to stay compliant. Participates in workflow design and system build of education modules and training materials. Develops high-quality training system builds and classroom plans/materials for end-users. Delivers training to end-user groups at varying skill levels and disseminates training materials effectively. Follows change control procedures. Willing and able to travel to offsite locations to perform job responsibilities. Organizes meetings, training, testing administration, end-user assessments, and logistics as needed. Provides end-user and super-user support during classroom training. Trains and credentials additional trainers to assist with end-user training. Complies with hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
