Medical Assistant - Urgent Care Location: North Conway, New Hampshire Position Type: per diem - as needed Join a fast-paced, patient-centered team providing high-quality care in a dynamic urgent care environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will support providers in delivering timely care to patients with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. In this role, you will assist with patient intake, clinical procedures, and coordination of care while helping ensure each patient receives compassionate, efficient treatment. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
