Intake Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity This is a part time, 24 hour per week position working 3pm - 11pm two shifts per week on the weekdays (Mon - Fri) and includes an every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) requirement. The weekend schedule is 7am - 3pm. Pembroke Hospital is a 120-bed acute care, inpatient behavioral health facility located south of Boston, in Pembroke, MA. Situated on 26 acres, we offer inpatient and partial hospitalization treatment to teens, adults and older adults, and our services are designed to assess, stabilize, and treat patients by addressing their primary symptoms and problems. The Intake RN is responsible for working collaboratively in the admissions department responding to inpatient referral requests from clinicians, patients, family members, managed care company staff, and others. The Intake RN must answer calls entering the queue (or coming in on direct extensions) and process demographic, clinical and insurance information in a manner consistent with service excellence and that ensures efficient and effective call processing, leading to a patient admission to Pembroke Hospitals program or providing appropriate information to the caller. The Intake RN is an adjunct to the department and is available as an immediate resource to non-clinical staff to assist them in ensuring appropriate medical screening in order to facilitate timely and expedited placement of patients within Pembroke Hospital facilities who meet admission guidelines. Responsibilities:
Complete intake call sheet on all referrals including for inpatient as appropriate for the position. Gather all necessary demographic, clinical and financial information on call sheet. Ensure information is accurate and complete as call sheet is transmitted to hospital clinical and business office staff. Requests evaluation from ESP/ED/Referrer as appropriate. Assist Intake Coordinators when requested in interpretation of lab values, and diagnostic testing within Pembroke guidelines in order to facilitate appropriate referrals to facilities. Reviews for first call acceptance of appropriate patients based on Pembroke protocols. Notify the units of pending admissions. Send completed call sheets and insurance verification/authorization to Hospital Unit, Utilization Review and Business office. Maintain accurate, up-to-date bed availability including update hospital staff of pending admissions or cancellations. Update external bedboard on regular basis. Adhere to department procedures related to waitlisted patients, transferring cases. Contact the CEO when a review is necessary or patient delayed.

Licensure: Current MA RN License Education: BSN preferred Experience: 1 year minimum behavioral health nursing experience required; Behavioral Health Intake/Admissions experience preferred
