What You'll Do
Perform venipuncture including jugular, cephalic, and saphenous blood draws Place catheters and assist with fluid therapy Safely restrain patients for diagnostics, treatments, and procedures using fear-free techniques whenever possible Provide patient care and comfort during treatment and hospitalization Assist with radiographs, sample collection, medical procedures, and surgical support Maintain clean, organized treatment, exam, surgical, kennel, and dental areas Restock supplies, maintain laundry, and unpack orders as needed Fill prescriptions accurately and maintain treatment area organization Educate clients on vaccines, protocols, follow-up care, and home care instructions Prepare estimates and discuss financial commitments professionally with clients Maintain accurate medical records using eVet/Pulse Collaborate closely with doctors and team members to support seamless patient care Provide compassionate support to clients during difficult situations
What Our Veterinary Assistants Bring
Previous veterinary hospital experience required Basic knowledge of drug calculations Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to anticipate patient and doctor needs Comfort working with computers and office equipment; eVet/Pulse experience is a plus Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional appearance and demeanor Passion for animals and empathy for their owners
