POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Do you want to make a tangible difference in the lives of seniors? Do you want to make their lives unforgettable? Do you want to boost your job satisfaction? Come work with us at the warm and welcoming Jazz Newman seniors' residence in LaSalle.
We are currently seeking a Personal Support Worker for a permanent part-time position, 20 hours per week, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. for evenings and weekends.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All other related tasks
  • Answer call ringtones
  • Assist and accompany residents in their travels
  • Ensure the accompaniment of residents to activities, the dining room and appointments at the home
  • Notify the nurse and/or the person in charge of health services of any changes observed in the state of health of the residents
  • Respond to all emergency situations

Health Care

  • Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
  • Assist the nursing staff in tasks that require no hands-on care of the resident
  • Assisting with resident nutrition including feeding residents and providing resident support
  • In collaboration with the different teams, carry out health and hygienic care to the residents while maintaining their dignity and integrity .

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma of vocational studies (DVS)
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience
  • Law 90 training
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • PDSB training
  • Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
