Job Description:

The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) is seeking a highly skilled leader to head the AI Consulting portfolio, a role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise in software engineering and AI/ML, as well as strong business acumen and communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and deployment of AI solutions that can drive business value and innovation across the Lockheed Martin enterprise. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and technical expertise, this role is perfect for a seasoned professional looking to make a significant impact in the field of AI.
 
What you'll be doing:
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop AI solutions
• Modeling complex business and engineering problems using machine learning and feature engineering techniques
• Deploying AI capabilities and tracking projects through to completion
• Implementing best technical practices from the fields of machine learning and software engineering
• Creating knowledge materials to disseminate best practices to other AI and data science teams
• Meeting with data science leaders to teach and discuss best practices

Who are you:
You are a highly skilled leader with a unique blend of technical expertise in software engineering and AI/ML, as well as strong business acumen and communication skills. You have hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI solutions, and are able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop associated statistical models. You possess a combination of skills, including:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Programming knowledge and experience with machine learning and software engineering
• Excellent communication skills to understand business needs and communicate the value of AI models
• Business focus and creative thinking to quickly cycle hypotheses through the discovery phase of projects
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and drive projects through to completion

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 5 years of professional experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience.
• Significant experience in applying machine learning techniques to business problems (natural language processing, deep learning, anomaly detection, reinforcement learning).
• Experience with Python, Typescript, or compiled languages like C++, Golang, etc
• Experience with developing software and software engineering best practices.
• Must be a US Citizen
