About the Role
We are an international parcel logistics company expanding our last-mile delivery network in Switzerland. We are looking for an experienced Last Mile DSP & Delivery Partner Network Manager to build, onboard and manage a reliable network of local delivery partners across Switzerland.
This role is not a general sales role and not a simple driver recruitment position. We are looking for someone with practical experience in parcel delivery, courier operations, subcontractor management, transport partner development, depot operations or last-mile logistics.
The ideal candidate should understand how local delivery companies, van fleets, courier operators and subcontracted transport partners operate in Switzerland. The role requires both business development capability and hands-on operational judgement.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop qualified local delivery partners, courier companies, van fleets, subcontractors and transport operators across Switzerland.
Build a structured pipeline of potential DSPs / transport partners by region, city and postcode area.
Evaluate partner capability, including fleet size, driver resources, service area, operational experience, delivery capacity and compliance readiness.
Approach and communicate with potential partners through phone, email, field visits and local network referrals.
Support the company in expanding coverage in key Swiss cities and regions, including Zürich, Bern, Lausanne, Geneva, Basel and other strategic areas.
Assess whether a potential partner is suitable for parcel last-mile delivery operations.
Collect key partner information, including company registration, fleet resources, driver structure, depot/storage capability, insurance, service area and pricing expectations.
Negotiate commercial cooperation terms, including delivery rate, trial operation arrangement, service scope, return process, payment logic and KPI requirements.
Support internal decision-making by preparing partner evaluation summaries and recommendation notes.
Maintain a clear partner pipeline and follow-up status.
Coordinate onboarding of new DSPs / delivery partners.
Explain operational requirements, delivery process, scanning rules, POD requirements, exception handling and return process.
Support pilot launch planning, including assigned delivery areas, parcel volume, pickup location, handover process and daily communication flow.
Work closely with operations, warehouse, customer service and IT teams to ensure partners can start delivery smoothly.
Identify early-stage operational risks and push for fast correction during trial operations.
Monitor partner performance after launch, including delivery success rate, 24h/48h SLA, failed delivery handling, return timeliness, POD quality, complaint rate and operational stability.
Maintain regular communication with delivery partners and solve operational issues quickly.
Support performance reviews, issue escalation, retraining and partner improvement plans.
Help retain reliable partners and replace underperforming partners where necessary.
Build long-term trust with high-quality local DSPs and fleet operators.
Collect market information on Swiss last-mile delivery operators, courier companies, local fleets and subcontractor networks.
Understand competitor practices from companies such as DPD, Swiss Post, DHL, GLS, Planzer, Quickpac, UPS, FedEx and local courier operators.
Provide practical feedback on regional pricing, partner expectations, delivery capacity and operational constraints.
Support the company in building a scalable and compliant Swiss last-mile delivery network.
Required Experience
Experience in last-mile delivery, courier operations, parcel logistics, transport partner management or subcontractor network development.
Existing knowledge of the Swiss parcel delivery or courier market is strongly preferred.
Experience working with or for companies such as DPD, Swiss Post, DHL, GLS, Planzer, Quickpac, UPS, FedEx, Amazon Logistics or local courier companies is highly valuable.
Ability to identify, approach and negotiate with local delivery companies, small fleet owners and transport operators.
Practical understanding of delivery operations, including route planning, parcel handover, POD, failed delivery handling, returns and driver performance.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and travel locally for partner visits when needed.
Structured working style with clear reporting and follow-up discipline.
Language Requirements
German: Strongly preferred, especially for German-speaking Switzerland.
English: Required for internal communication.
French: Advantage, especially for Romandy / Lausanne / Geneva region.
Italian: Advantage for Ticino region.
