Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist 1 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our hospital and clinic network. In this role, you will provide evidence‑based physical therapy evaluation and treatment to patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, and chronic conditions, helping them restore function, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life. Working within an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, and case managers, you will collaborate to develop and implement individualized plans of care that reflect Methodist Health System’s mission to improve and save lives with compassion and high‑quality care. As a Physical Therapist 1, you will complete thorough initial assessments, establish functional and measurable treatment goals, and deliver a full range of therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re‑education, balance and gait training, manual therapy, and patient and family education. You will monitor patients’ progress, adjust treatment plans based on clinical response, and document all care in the electronic medical record in accordance with professional, regulatory, and Methodist Health System standards. You will also coordinate discharge planning, including home exercise programs, durable medical equipment recommendations, and appropriate therapy referrals. This position supports a culture built on integrity, compassion, and accountability. You will be expected to demonstrate professional judgment, ethical practice, and strong communication skills while working in a collaborative and inclusive environment. The Physical Therapist 1 role is ideal for a clinician who is early in their career but committed to continuous learning, evidence‑based practice, and exceptional patient‑centered care. You will participate in ongoing education, competency development, and performance improvement activities, contributing ideas that enhance safety, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Primary responsibilities include prioritizing and managing a daily caseload, ensuring timely evaluation and treatment, and coordinating with the care team to support safe transitions across the continuum of care. You will provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, therapy goals, self‑management strategies, and injury prevention. You will also assist with student or new‑hire orientation when appropriate and adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
