*EMPLOYMENT NOTE*

* Primary work location is Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA. Work may also occur aboard U.S. Navy ships, in Navy shipyards, at contractor sites, at U.S. Naval facilities, and during approved travel as mission needs require.
*POSITION OVERVIEW*
STi is seeking a Submarine Support Equipment Project Manager to support MARMC Code 271 Submarine Peculiar Special & Support Equipment (PSSE) support, PSSE program management, non-ordnance handling, and Virginia Class Weapons Cradle Warehouse support.
This role serves as the senior technical/program support lead for PSSE Program Engineering Services supporting Commander, Naval Submarine Force Atlantic, Submarine Squadron Six and Eight, and Naval Submarine Support Facility New London. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on submarine PSSE experience, strong mechanical equipment project leadership, and the ability to coordinate across TYCOM, ISEA, fleet, squadron, shipyard, maintenance, logistics, and waterfront stakeholders.
This position is especially suited for a senior Navy maintenance, submarine support equipment, weapons handling support, shipyard, or PSSE professional with experience keeping mission-critical support equipment operational, certified, documented, and ready for fleet use.
*PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Responsibilities include:
* Serve as the senior Project Manager / Engineering Technician VI supporting PSSE program management, engineering services, maintenance coordination, certification support, logistics support, and readiness reporting.
* Support TYCOM on PSSE-related issues, including maintainability, availability, logistics support, life-cycle cost, repair capability, and fleet readiness concerns.
* Collect PSSE condition reports from user activities and prepare recurring PSSE status reports for Government stakeholders.
* Coordinate, schedule, and conduct PSSE site assessment visits to evaluate in-fleet PSSE condition, assist users and maintainers, and identify issues requiring Government or ISEA attention.
* Maintain master schedules of fleet PSSE needs, including naval shipyard support requirements.
* Maintain and manage applicable technical manuals, drawings, load test drawings, Planned Maintenance System documentation, loading and handling procedures, standards, TYCOM directives, and PSSE inventory/condition history.
* Coordinate with PSSE ISEA, PSSE users, maintenance activities, submarine squadrons, fleet personnel, Regional Maintenance Centers, and other Navy organizations to resolve technical, maintenance, logistics, and readiness issues.
* Provide on-call, non-routine PSSE problem resolution when downed equipment or urgent fleet support issues affect ship schedules or readiness.
* Support maintenance, certification, and QA program activities to keep PSSE equipment in a fully operational and certified condition.
* Attend logistics support reviews and provide input on provisioning, maintenance philosophies, logistics support, and engineering change impacts.
* Conduct recurring PSSE program updates with Government SMEs, TYCOM, and submarine squadron stakeholders.
* Support material and tooling requirements needed to restore PSSE to certifiable and usable condition using MRCs, technical manuals, drawings, and approved procedures.
* Support blocking, bracing, stenciling, storage, shipping, receiving, truck inspections, and non-ordnance handling material requirements.
* Monitor shop consumables and coordinate supply needs using Government-designated inventory processes.
* Ensure work is performed safely in shipboard, waterfront, industrial, maintenance, and confined-space environments in accordance with customer, OSHA, and local activity requirements.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
* U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret clearance required.
* Minimum 10 years of full-time experience leading technical projects involving mechanical equipment.
* Minimum 8 years of full-time hands-on technical experience within the last 10 years in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of PSSE incorporated in Submarine PSSE Non-Ordnance Handling systems.
* Hands-on experience working directly with mechanical support equipment, maintenance procedures, technical manuals, drawings, PMS, MRCs, certification processes, or similar Navy maintenance documentation.
* Ability to coordinate technical, maintenance, logistics, readiness, and program status issues across Government, fleet, shipyard, squadron, maintenance, and contractor stakeholders.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare reports, status updates, recommendations, and technical coordination materials for Government review.
* Ability to work aboard U.S. Navy ships and in waterfront, shipyard, industrial, and maintenance environments.
* Ability to walk, climb ladders/stairs, carry tools/materials, navigate confined or crowded shipboard spaces, and work in varying environmental conditions.
* Ability to obtain and maintain required local activity training, OSHA/safety training, CPR certification, PPE compliance, and customer-required onboarding credentials.
* Ability to travel between work sites as required.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
* Prior MARMC, RMC, TYCOM, submarine squadron, NSSF New London, COMSUBLANT, ISEA, NAVSEA, or Navy shipyard support experience.
* Direct experience supporting submarine PSSE, non-ordnance handling systems, VLS/VPT support equipment, missile tube loading/handling maintenance platforms, ballast cans, AUR/AURB/AURVS/AURES, TMDs, torpedo shapes, weapon cradles, munitions trailers, or related support equipment.
* Experience maintaining PSSE inventory, condition status, certification records, life-cycle cost inputs, or fleet readiness reporting.
* Experience coordinating site assessments, maintenance capability reviews, logistics support reviews, or engineering change impact assessments.
* Experience supporting Navy QA, certification, maintenance planning, PMS compliance, load test documentation, or controlled technical documentation.
* Familiarity with blocking/bracing, stenciling, shipping/receiving evolutions, truck inspections, storage requirements, or waterfront handling support.
* Prior leadership of multi-site technical teams supporting Navy maintenance, shipboard equipment, or submarine readiness programs.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT*
* Primary place of performance is MARMC / Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA.
* Work may occur aboard U.S. Navy ships in port or underway, in Navy public or commercial shipyards, at U.S. Naval facilities, at contractor sites, and during approved CONUS/OCONUS travel.
* Work requires use of required PPE and compliance with shipboard, industrial, OSHA, and local safety requirements.
* Some work may require confined-space, aloft, waterfront, shipboard, or industrial maintenance environment access.
