Location: UCHealth UCHlth Longs Peak Hospital, US:CO:Longmont
Department: LPH Lab Send Outs
Work Schedule: Full Time, 70.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $19.67 - $25.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
Summary:
Performs technical and clerical functions in one or more sections of the laboratory.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists with receiving, identifying, accessing, processing and transporting specimens, plus additional responsibilities requiring critical thinking. Handles problems, including documentation and resolution.
  • Communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Acts as mentor in specific area of expertise. Maintains equipment and adequate stock of supplies. Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
  • Performs duties in accordance with regulations and procedures. Contributes to new procedures.
  • Performs clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing. Performs charge entry and/or invoice reconciliation as applicable.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: 1 year in healthcare environment.
