The patient care technician (PCT/CNA) performs a variety of patient care activities at Gaylord hospital. Working under the direction of the RN, the PCT's have valuable exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and skills while working in a warm and friendly atmosphere with supportive, interdisciplinary teams. With an average patient length of stay 25-30 days, the PCT is able to develop strong relationships and play a key role in the recovery of our patients.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. diploma or GED required
  • CNA, CPCT, CEMT, CMA or RMA required or equivalent training program
  • Patient care experience preferred
  • American heart association (AHA) or American red cross (ARC) CPR certification required prior to hire

Work schedule: Night shift (11pm-7:00am), 24 hours a week, every other weekend/holiday rotation

Gaylord nursing units offer a variety of skills such as:

  • Milne units: Step down/progressive care unit of level of care includes:
    • Continuous telemetry monitoring
    • Ventilator support and weaning
    • LVAD patient population
    • Heart transplant population
  • Lyman 1 & Hooker 1: Medical units offer skills such as:
    • Stroke
    • Complex wounds
    • Telemetry
    • Pulmonary care
  • Lyman 2 & Hooker 2: Specialty units are CARF accredited with a focused patient population:
    • Traumatic brain injury
    • Stroke
    • Spinal cord injury
