Join NineTwoThree AI Studio, a remote-first product design, engineering, and marketing studio, founded in 2012 and based in Boston. We build AI-powered web and mobile apps for big brands and fast-moving startups. We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to join our design team. In this role, you will create intuitive, user-centered, and efficient-to-build experiences for AI-driven platforms, mobile apps, and web applications. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop solutions that balance user needs and business goals. You will also get to design for products across all sorts of industries and platforms, making this an exciting place to exercise your design muscles. Most of what we build is internal and enterprise tooling, so we optimize for clarity, speed, and reduced engineering effort, not visual novelty. This role requires a high level of creativity, collaboration, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate has a strong background in UI/UX design, an obsession with systematizing and speeding up the whole team's work, and a passion for usable interfaces that engineers can ship quickly. Key responsibilities include: Leading the end-to-end design process, for client projects and the NineTwoThree brand, from concept to developer-ready handoff. Working inside our existing component system (Chakra UI and its Figma UI Kit): reuse and extend it, customizing per client with minimal divergence and minimal engineering rework, instead of reinventing components. Producing wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI in Figma to communicate solutions and test hypotheses. Conducting competitive analysis and usability testing to validate decisions, favoring familiar, proven patterns over trends. Treating developer implementation cost as a first-class design constraint: prefer the solution that ships fastest from our component library over the one that looks the most novel. Innovating in information architecture and layout: decide what to surface, what to hide, and where things live, so the main workspace gets the screen space rather than endless menus, filters, and navigation. Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into usable designs, and defend your decisions with user needs and business goals. Speeding up the design process with AI tools, and helping raise the team's craft and design culture.
