About the Role Client is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Office of Information Technology (OIT) in overseeing, managing, troubleshooting, and executing cloud services and platforms to support the Client’s infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs. The role includes tasks such as adding and removing authorized users, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, monitoring usage of shared resources, and leading technology initiatives across infrastructure administration, application development, data management & analytics, cybersecurity, external hosting, identity and access management, infrastructure, network, security hardening, privacy, and compliance. The Systems Administrator will work on medium to high complexity projects and systems, providing daily operations support, maintenance, and administration for servers while owning complex issues to support departmental business.
Primary Job Duties / Tasks
Support and expand client infrastructure.
Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors).
Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; define network policies and procedures; and establish connections and firewalls.
Maintain network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, performance tuning; troubleshoot systems and application problems; and escalates problems to vendors.
Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
Support other IT staff, including developers.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience
2–3 years experience with Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
2–3 years experience with IIS Administration.
2–3 years of network communications experience, including TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.
2–3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.
2–3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.
2–3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired.
2–3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired.
3–5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
3–5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.
5–8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.
