THE ROLEThe Succession Planning Advisor will help strengthen the organization’s future readiness by leading the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Succession Management Framework. This role will support critical and hard-to-fill positions through evidence-based talent strategies aligned with organizational priorities. In partnership with HR Business Partners, leaders, and enterprise stakeholders, the Advisor will develop practical approaches to identify talent risks, assess readiness, strengthen succession pipelines, and support meaningful development planning. The role will also lead the configuration, optimization, and use of Workday functionality for succession planning, using talent pools, readiness assessments, potential evaluations, and workforce data to inform strategic decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Development, or a related field, and significant experience in human resources or a related field
Experience
In conducting talent reviews with senior leaders
In developing succession pipelines and readiness assessments
In planning, administering and coordinating training and development programs, including workshops, leadership sessions, and cross-functional planning meetings
In configuring and optimizing Human Capital Management (HCM) modules, such as succession planning
In interpreting policies and procedures
In project management
In translating business strategies into enterprise level initiatives
In providing advice and guidance to managers and clients
In working with Human Resources (HR) systems, analytics and employee data
In configurating and utilizing Workday modules, an asset
Competencies

OTHER INFORMATIONThis is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
