Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Reporting
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports Support audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation Accounts Payable
Process full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, entry, and payment processing Ensure invoices are properly approved and routed in accordance with company policies Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries Review expenses for accuracy, appropriate coding, and compliance Bookkeeping & Daily Accounting
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactions Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Assist with cash application and basic accounts receivable functions as needed Support ongoing bookkeeping activities to ensure financial data integrity Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 1+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Hands-on experience with accounts payable and general ledger processes Strong understanding of GAAP principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Benefits

$60,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
