Position Overview The Business Analyst I will play a critical role in transforming operational, financial, and project delivery data into actionable insights that enable strategic decision‑making and operational efficiency across the Texas Region. This role partners closely with Region President, Finance Team, HR Team, Branch Managers, project management, operations, and administrative teammates to build dashboards, analyze trends, optimize processes, and support data‑driven culture.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Insights
Analyze complex engineering, operational, and financial datasets to identify trends, risks, and performance opportunities.
Support project teams with custom analyses related to project performance, resource utilization, profitability, forecasting, and client behavior.
Conduct root‑cause analyses on issues such as project overruns, schedule delays, and operational bottlenecks.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
Design, build, and maintain dashboards and automated reporting in tools such as VantagePoint, UROCK, etc.
Develop performance metrics (KPIs) for engineering operations, project delivery, safety, and quality.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across business systems and reports.
Data Infrastructure & Governance
Work with project teams to ensure proper data flows between ERP, CRM, project management, asset management, and field data systems.
Develop data models and structures that enable scalable analytics and streamlined reporting.
Ensure data accuracy within ERP, CRM and UROCK.
Train local staff on data integrity practices.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering teams to understand project workflows, technical requirements, and operational constraints.
Collaborate with project management to enhance forecasting accuracy and resource planning.
Present findings and recommendations to leadership in clear, visually compelling formats.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; ability to derive trends and conduct risk/reward analysis.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
Experience with business process modeling and documentation tools.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Travel Requirements This position requires occasional domestic overnight travel, approximately 10% to 20% of the time, to support business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on‑site work.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
On‑Site Office Requirements:
Work is performed at a desk for extended periods using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment in a climate‑controlled office environment.
Regular in‑person communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders is required.
Physical demands may include sitting for long durations, occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 15 pounds.
