Data Governance Manager

A Data Governance Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework that ensures the accuracy and integrity of the organization's data assets. This role leads the development and implementation of data policies, standards, and procedures, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and alignment with business objectives. This position involves overseeing data quality initiatives, managing data-related risks, and fostering a culture of data stewardship across the organization. By leveraging expertise in data management and governance, the Data Governance Manager plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making and driving the strategic use of data to achieve organizational goals.

Job duties include establishing and maintaining a comprehensive data governance framework, overseeing data quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations, promoting a culture of data stewardship, working closely with cross-functional teams, evaluating and implementing data governance tools and technologies, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives, and continuously assessing and improving data governance practices.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities include a high school diploma or equivalent, a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, advanced degrees preferred, seven or more years of experience in data management, data governance, master data management, or data quality, experience implementing, developing, or supporting data teams, analytics teams, or business intelligence platforms, experience in data modeling of large and complex data stores, relevant certifications such as DCAM CIMP, CDMP, proficiency with data governance tools and technologies, familiarity with Microsoft Azure & Power BI, strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to maintain accurate documentation and technical authorship of complex documents, excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills, ability to translate complex technical issues and topics into layman terms for diverse audiences, ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and management, ability to interact and build relationships and consensus among people, ability to facilitate meetings efficiently and effectively, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to effectively organize and delegate complex tasks, ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details, ability to work well under pressure while dealing with unexpected problems in a professional manner, advanced knowledge and understanding of the firm's standard applications and all aspects of the IT environment, willingness to travel, on a limited basis, in support of stated goals and/or for firm sponsored trainings and conferences.

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $140,000 - $165,000 Maryland Range: $140,000 - $165,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $140,000 - $165,000
