About the Role As an Agentic AI Data Engineer within Kyndryl’s newly established Agentic AI Lab, you will serve as a foundational builder for high-performance data platforms powering enterprise-scale AI. This is a highest priority initiative under our Innovation at Scale portfolio. You will design, build, and optimize the data pipelines, vector databases, and semantic frameworks that allow autonomous AI agents to interact intelligently with complex enterprise data. What You’ll Do Design and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines supporting both batch and real-time processing across hybrid cloud environments. Deploy and manage vector databases and semantic layers tailored for high-context AI search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Develop secure, high-throughput API endpoints enabling autonomous agents to seamlessly access structured and unstructured datasets. Implement rigorous data quality frameworks, validation rules, and automated testing loops to ensure pristine data delivery. Collaborate with architects, software engineers, and data scientists in rapid innovation cycles to translate business needs into data infrastructure. Required Skills and Experience Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and experience with ETL/ELT tools (Airflow, dbt, Kafka). Expertise in data modeling, distributed systems, and cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and observability tools (DataHub, Great Expectations). Experience with vector databases and feature store design for AI/ML workflows. Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize performance. Preferred Skills and Experience Background in regulated industries or environments with stringent compliance requirements. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with semantic modelling, metadata management, and emerging AI/ML data integration patterns. Experience with CI/CD for data workflows, version control, and Agile methodologies. Compensation and Benefits Compensation range for this position in the U.S. is $110,880 to $210,600 based on a full-time schedule. Variation may occur by geography, job-related skills, and experience. For part‑time roles, compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay will not be below any applicable minimum wage requirements. Location specific ranges: California: $122,040 to $252,840; Colorado: $110,880 to $210,600; New York City: $133,080 to $252,840; Washington: $122,040 to $231,720; Washington DC: $122,040 to $231,720. The position is eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program and may receive a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.
