We are looking for an experienced detail-oriented process-driven senior Project Manager to oversee a large-scale technology project with the Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services.
The resource will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of clinical and environmental laboratory information management systems (LIMS) ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
Collaboration with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, create and maintain documentation, provide RFP input, plan project timelines, allocate resources and monitor progress.
Certifications:
Active PMP or VITA PMD certification required
Responsibilities:
Clearly define roles and responsibilities and drive constructive and productive participation by all involved.
Aggressively manage project tasks, ensuring work progresses according to schedule.
Collect requirements from a broad set of users and consolidate them into a comprehensive statement of requirements.
Prepare documentation, obtain approval and track all changes in project scope.
Communicate project changes and events to stakeholders and senior management.
Set project goals and develop plans to meet those goals.
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects.
Manage multiple associated projects throughout their lifetime to ensure success in scope, budget and timeline.
Conduct regular project meetings and ensure comprehensive documentation of progress and outcomes.
Provide timely status reports reflecting project status, issues and risks.
Proactively identify risks and impacts, collaborating with customer and project team to address concerns.
Consult with the project team on all aspects of project management and ensure compliance with Commonwealth project management policies, standards and guidelines.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Proven work experience as an IT Project Manager, Required 10 Years
Significant experience in agile project management methodologies and waterfall methodologies, Required 7 Years
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, Required
Experience in RFP process, Required 5 Years
Experience in Planview Enterprise 1 or similar portfolio and project management tools, Required 7 Years
Experience in Azure DevOps or any Agile Project Management tools, Required 7 Years
Certified Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification, Required
Experience in Laboratory Information Management System, Highly desired 5 Years
Experience working as a Project Manager in a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency(ies), Highly desired 5 Years
