Our client, a leading national organisation within Ireland's logistics sector, is seeking a Qualified Cost Accountant to join their Finance team on an 18-24 month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical finance professional to take ownership of key operational and overhead cost areas, providing detailed financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and business insight.
Working closely with the Operations Controller and wider Finance team, you will play a vital role in supporting financial performance and driving cost efficiency across the organisation.
Based in Dublin 7, this role offers exposure to a complex operational environment where your expertise will directly influence decision-making and future planning.
Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage operating, overhead, and accommodation costs, ensuring accurate tracking of actual expenditure against budget and forecast.
Perform detailed analysis of vendor charges across multiple cost centres and locations, ensuring accuracy and correct financial period allocation.
Develop and maintain relevant KPIs to support cost analysis and operational performance.
Analyse planned versus actual costs and identify key trends and risks.
Prepare and present variance analysis against budget and forecast to Finance leadership.
Produce forward-looking forecasts, incorporating operational plans and resource requirements.
Ensure all costs are accurately recorded, supported, and allocated to the appropriate reporting period.
Utilise SAP and other financial systems to perform detailed analysis and support monthly reporting activities.
Support the preparation of management reporting packs and provide financial insights to key stakeholders.
Collaborate with Finance Management on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
Provide ad hoc analysis, reporting, and support across the Finance Business Operations function.
About You Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Proven experience in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
Strong expertise in variance analysis and cost control.
Microsoft Excel skills, with experience analysing large and complex datasets.
Demonstrated experience developing and reporting on meaningful KPIs.
Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and integrity.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
