This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with proven experience working for amain contractor or construction business.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the procurement function, supporting the delivery of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects by ensuring the timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials, plant, and subcontract packages.
Working closely with the Commercial, Estimating, and Project Delivery teams, you will play a key role in maintaining an efficient supply chain while building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors across the Irish construction sector.
Key Responsibilities Lead the procurement of construction materials, plant, and subcontract packages across multiple live projects.
Develop and implement procurement strategies that support project programmes, budgets, and commercial objectives.
Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors within the construction industry.
Work closely with Estimating, Quantity Surveying, and Project Management teams during both pre-construction and project delivery phases.
Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and material availability to minimise supply chain risks.
Negotiate commercial agreements and framework arrangements with key supply chain partners.
Coordinate procurement schedules to ensure materials and subcontractors are available in line with construction programmes.
Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier performance reports, and purchasing data.
Requirements Construction industry experience is essential.
Proven experience as a Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer, or Procurement Specialist working for amain contractor, developer, or construction company.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, subcontract procurement, and supply chain management within the Irish construction sector.
Demonstrated experience procuring for residential, commercial, or civil engineering projects.
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract administration, and supplier management.
Ability to build effective working relationships with site teams, commercial departments, and external suppliers.
Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP systems.
Relevant qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is desirable.
