Job Title: IT Project Manager Duration: 5-month contract (opportunity for extension) Location: Tualatin, OR (remote optional) Pay Range: $61.73 - $65.07 per hour
The IT Project Manager provides overall project management leadership for a Simplification Project, ensuring successful execution of project activities, deliverables, and stakeholder communications. The role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day project functions, managing schedules, budgets, risks, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. The position supports a Grid Operations Technology application development and integration team responsible for system integrations, testing, documentation, and production support.
Position Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day leadership and overall project management for a Simplification Project. Facilitate project team meetings to coordinate activities, monitor progress, and ensure alignment across project stakeholders. Lead design sessions to support project planning, solution development, and decision-making. Prepare and deliver project status updates in accordance with the project communications plan. Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules, including gathering schedule inputs and updating project timelines. Create, maintain, and communicate the project risk register, identifying, tracking, and mitigating project risks. Develop, maintain, and communicate the project organization chart throughout the project lifecycle. Manage and communicate project budgets and financial forecasts across the full project scope. Maintain and complete System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation throughout all phases of the project. Collaborate with application development, integration, and business teams to support project execution and delivery. Coordinate requirements clarification, testing activities, documentation, issue tracking, and issue resolution. Support system integration and production readiness activities involving technologies such as AWS/OATI, PI/OSIsoft, EMS, APIs, and SFTP. Build and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful project outcomes. Organize project activities, monitor deliverables, and ensure project milestones are completed on schedule.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of five years of project management experience leading technology or IT projects. Demonstrated experience facilitating project team meetings and design sessions. Experience developing and communicating project schedules, status reports, and stakeholder communications. Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating project risk registers and organizational charts. Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. Experience maintaining SDLC documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. Experience supporting system integration, testing coordination, documentation, and issue resolution activities. Familiarity with project collaboration and documentation tools such as Jira, SharePoint, or Confluence preferred. Experience supporting projects involving AWS/OATI, PI/OSIsoft, EMS, APIs, or SFTP is beneficial. Utility operations experience preferred but not required. PMP certification preferred. Ability to work Pacific Time business hours. Must-Have:
