This position will provide onsite support at Patuxent River NAS in southern Maryland and requires a DoD Top Secret Security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
As the Network Administrator, you will join a team of highly-driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business case analysis across the NAVAIR community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and administer all network devices including deployment of new technologies
Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application-level connectivity and performance problems
Maintain network boundary security
Participate in network security incident investigations
Perform audit reviews of STIG standards and STIG updates of assigned devices
Perform reviews of vulnerabilities and perform remediation planning and execution
Maintain documentation including work instructions, SOPs, processes and desk guides
Other tasks as assigned by customer POCs, Team Lead, and Management team
Required Skills and Experience
Clearance Required: Top Secret
Secret required to start
IAT Level 2 or higher certification (Examples of minimum acceptable certifications-CCNA Security, CySA+, G SEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
3-year minimum experience with networking device configuration and support
3-year minimum experience with IP networking design
3-year minimum experience with virtual server environments
Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace.
Must be able to follow defined and documented customer processes and policies, and perform tasking where there may be documentation gaps
Experience working with network infrastructure devices and protocols, and proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain solutions supporting high-availability network infrastructures.
Must be highly motivated and will be required to respond to and provide resolutions to problems on a timely basis.
Experience with planning, configuring, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting of a variety of network systems.
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with Linux is a plus
Ability to be a self-starter and have the initiative to learn more advanced operations and technologies
