Job Summary

As a Medical Technician, you will play an important role in supporting residents' health, safety, and overall well-being. You will assist with medication administration, monitor residents' physical and emotional conditions, maintain accurate records, and help create a positive living environment while encouraging resident independence.

This position reports to the LPN Supervisor and offers the opportunity to work closely with residents and healthcare professionals in a caring senior living community.

Responsibilities
  • Support Lutheran Haven's mission and values through compassionate resident care.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • Supervise and assist residents with self-administration of medications.
  • Ensure medications are available and administered according to established procedures.
  • Observe, document, and report changes in resident health and well-being.
  • Obtain and record vital signs and weights as directed.
  • Assist residents with transportation arrangements and off-site appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation and medical records.
  • Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions.
  • Promote resident participation in community activities and events.
  • Attend required training sessions, staff meetings, and in-service programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Medication Administration Certificate is preferred but not required.
  • Paid training and certification available for qualified candidates.
  • Current CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain after hire.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism in a healthcare environment.
  • Reliable, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent resident care.
