Warehouse Manager

We are seeking an experienced and organized Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced electrical wholesale distribution warehouse. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing inventory, supervising warehouse staff, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, maintaining safety standards, and driving operational efficiency to support exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Manage all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
  • Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing levels to meet productivity goals.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight with suppliers and carriers
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse personnel.
  • Foster a positive, safety-focused, and customer-oriented work environment.
  • Set performance expectations and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Lead team meetings and communicate company goals and operational updates.
  • Inventory Management
  • Oversee inventory control processes and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchasing to maintain appropriate inventory.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control and order fulfillment.
  • Monitor performance and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Support technology and process enhancements within warehouse operations.

Reports to: Operations Manager & Branch Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equal
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable record
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and associated functions
  • Excellent communications skills, creative problem-solving skills, and organizational skills

Additional Competencies:

  • Proven work experience or clear demonstration of the ability to lead a team
  • Well-developed attention to details and a desire to be highly accurate
  • Must have stellar multitasking and prioritizing ability, as well as a strong sense of urgency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College Degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Two or more years' experience leading a team
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring employees

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a professional environment primarily in a warehouse, with frequent outside yard activities, and occasional off-site travel in company vehicles.
  • Performing the essential duties of this job:
  • May require standing, bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, and walking with repetition
  • May also require the ability to climb stairs, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Requires ability to understand and speak English clearly
  • Occasionally requires lifting or moving products and supplies up to 50 pounds unassisted

Essential Job Functions:

  • Represent CED in a professional and appropriate manner
  • Oversee and contribute to all warehouse functions and dispatch delivery drivers
  • Ensure the smooth and accurate flow of material as it arrives at, and is assembled to leave, our facility
  • Communicate and help reconcile stock accuracy variances
  • Supervise all warehouse activities to ensure they are carried out safely
  • Lead employees to succeed in daily tasks and maximizing long-term career goals
  • Periodic evaluation of current processes and determine areas for improvement
  • Accurately process and secure related documentation
  • Champion team objectives and priorities as determined by the Profit Center Manager
