To support a growing team, the full-time Backend Systems Engineer will design, implement, and scale infrastructure from early-stage to production-scale deployment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a remote or Vancouver-based environment. Key responsibilities
Design and implement scalable backend systems that transition from prototype to production scale Build and maintain high-performance, distributed systems with a focus on database design and optimization Manage cloud infrastructure and containerization using tools like Kubernetes and Docker
Required qualifications
Strong experience in database design, optimization, and management Proven track record of scaling systems from prototype to production for 10+ to 100k+ users Expertise in system monitoring, logging, and observability Experience with load balancing, caching strategies, and performance optimization Proficiency in implementing security best practices and data protection
