Technical Sales Representative
Basin Industries, LLC is seeking a technical sales representative with strong experience in wood and corrugated packaging to support and grow customer relationships through consultative selling and custom packaging design. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional who understands packaging materials and manufacturing, as well as enjoys developing practical, cost-effective solutions for customers.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Development- Develop and maintain customer relationships by identifying packaging challenges and opportunities.
- Conduct customer site visits to evaluate products, handling methods, and distribution environments.
- Generate new business while managing and growing existing accounts.
- Maintain daily updates in CRM system to track customer interactions.
- Prepare and present pricing, proposals, and technical recommendations.
- Negotiate pricing, agreements, and long-term supply arrangements.
- Work directly with customers to design custom wood and corrugated packaging solutions.
- Assist with packaging design, material selection, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and production teams.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of packaging solutions.
- Help customers reduce total packaging costs without sacrificing protection, performance or quality.
- Serve as the main point of contact from design through production and delivery.
- Coordinate specifications, timelines, and change management.
- Ensure customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery are met.
- Troubleshoot packaging issues and recommend corrective actions.
- 5+ years of sales experience in wood, corrugated, or industrial packaging.
- Working knowledge of packaging materials and design principles.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to read and discuss packaging drawings or specifications.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Experience with custom crates, pallets, or heavy-duty packaging.
- Familiarity with packaging design or CAD software.
- Industrial or manufacturing customer experience.
- Project management or technical sales background.
