Commitment: 12–20 hours per week over a 3‑6‑month semester, minimum 100 hours.
Location: Blazer Building Training Center, 1933 N. Marcey Street, Chicago, IL 60614.
PAWS Chicago is looking for a curious and detail‑oriented intern with a passion for animal welfare, excited to learn about Digital Marketing at a nonprofit organization. The Digital Marketing Intern will leave the internship with practical skills in working cross‑departmentally, project management, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, eager to learn new platforms, and excited to identify opportunities to improve digital processes and audience engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Audit, optimize, and edit automated email journeys across PAWS digital platforms.
Research and develop email marketing platform growth tactics.
Support the development and execution of digital marketing plans for monthly adoption events and campaigns.
Assist in creating digital fundraising resources, guides, and best‑practice documentation.
Learn PAWS’s content management systems to make web updates as needed.
Support the Marketing and Communications Department with administrative tasks as needed.
Support additional digital marketing projects and campaigns as assigned.
Requirements
A current junior or senior at an accredited college or university, or a recent college or university graduate.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Creative thinker with ability to identify and solve problems.
Experience using or willingness to learn Typo3, GoFundMe Pro, MailChimp, and other platforms as needed.
Ability to work proactively and independently on projects.
A passion for animals and animal welfare, and a genuine interest in learning more about the No Kill movement.
Physical Requirements
Walking and moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Able to lift 25 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount constantly.
Repetitive motion.
Ability to travel to PAWS locations as needed.
