Job Description We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and improve our business technology environment. This role will have a strong emphasis on network engineering and Cisco Meraki equipment, but it is not limited to networking. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing day-to-day IT engineering operations across network infrastructure, cloud services, endpoint systems, identity platforms, security tools, and core business applications. When network-focused projects or escalations are complete, this person will support broader infrastructure operations and help keep the company's technology environment reliable, secure, and well-documented. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can troubleshoot complex issues, own infrastructure improvements, support business growth, and work across multiple areas of IT. Key Responsibilities Manage and support core business infrastructure, including networking, cloud platforms, identity systems, endpoint management, servers, security tools, and business-critical applications. Administer and maintain Cisco Meraki infrastructure, including MX firewalls, MS switches, MR wireless access points, VLANs, VPNs, SSIDs, firewall rules, traffic shaping, and network security policies. Support day-to-day IT engineering operations, including system monitoring, incident response, infrastructure maintenance, access management, upgrades, and service improvements. Troubleshoot issues across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, Microsoft 365, Windows systems, cloud services, and endpoint platforms. Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure for office buildouts, expansions, hardware refreshes, and business technology projects. Manage network and infrastructure documentation, including topology diagrams, IP address plans, VLAN assignments, system inventories, configuration standards, and support procedures. Support Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD, Intune, Windows Server, endpoint management, security policies, and related infrastructure services. Assist with user, device, and application access controls, including identity management, conditional access, MFA, and group-based permissions. Partner with help desk, security, and other business teams to resolve escalated technical issues and improve the end-user experience. Monitor infrastructure health, performance, licensing, warranties, alerts, and lifecycle replacement needs. Participate in infrastructure planning, vendor coordination, change management, and post-deployment support. Recommend improvements to system reliability, security, automation, documentation, and operational efficiency. Qualifications
Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, network administration, or a similar technical role. Hands-on experience supporting business IT infrastructure in a professional environment. Experience with Cisco Meraki equipment and the Meraki Dashboard. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, NAT, VPNs, wireless networking, and firewall policies. Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Windows systems, endpoint management, identity platforms, or cloud-based business infrastructure. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across multiple IT areas, not just networking. Experience documenting infrastructure systems, support procedures, configurations, and change records. Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users. Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow change-control processes, and work independently. Ability to facilitate off-hours work, on-call duties, and travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications Cisco Meraki, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft, Azure, Intune, or security-related certifications. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Azure, Windows Server, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, or related Microsoft 365 services. Experience with network monitoring, endpoint management, vulnerability management, backup tools, or security platforms. Familiarity with zero-trust security, conditional access, SASE, SD-WAN, and cloud-managed infrastructure. Experience supporting office buildouts, network refreshes, firewall migrations, or multi-site environments. Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Python, APIs, or similar tools. What Success Looks Like Business infrastructure is stable, secure, documented, and easy to support. Network projects are completed successfully, but the role remains engaged in broader IT operations. Escalated technical issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly. Meraki networking, Microsoft 365, identity, endpoints, and core systems are maintained proactively. Infrastructure standards, diagrams, inventories, and procedures stay current. The IT team has better visibility into risks, system health, and upcoming lifecycle needs. Business users experience reliable access to the systems, applications, and network resources they need. What We Offer: At Cresset, we focus on people first.
