Quality Assurance Manager We are currently looking to recruit aQuality Assurance Manager to work at our Liverpool Headquarters on afull time,permanent contract. Reporting into the Quality Manager, you will lead and develop the Quality Assurance Team, ensuring our products and manufacturing processes consistently meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards. You will provide quality oversight across production, warehousing, and our co-manufacturing network, maintaining a strong culture of compliance while driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. You will be responsible for quality assurance activities including non-conformance management, customer complaints, quality investigations, and the effective management of co-manufacturer quality relationships, helping to ensure the highest standards of product quality, food safety and regulatory compliance. What will you do? As the Quality Assurance Manager, your main responsibilities will consist of the following: Manage and lead direct reports to achieve the operational goals of the department and driving growth through individual development plans Promote a strong quality culture across the department and wider business through quality awareness, accountability and continuous improvement Lead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints and adverse events using structured root cause analysis, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Monitor key quality assurance parameters and trend data to identify risks and drive performance of suppliers and co-manufacturers whilst maintaining strong relationships Act as HACCP Team Leader for the Glycosade facility and pilot plant, ensuring robust food safety systems and compliance Drive GMP excellence through auditing, ensuring compliance, identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering timely closure of corrective actions. Manage site quality assurance programmes, ensuring effective oversight of allergen management, Mandatory Allergen Declarations (MADs), pest control, and other quality compliance processes to maintain product integrity and regulatory compliance Oversee the approval of suppliers and raw materials, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory requirements. Support business readiness for external audits including ISO9001, FSSC22000 and FDA audits. Provide technical quality support for new products, process changes and other change management activities Support in the development continuous improvement of quality systems, policies and procedures across the business. Who are we looking for? Essential University Graduate (preferred Microbiology, Chemistry or Food Sciences related disciplines) or equivalent experience Flexibility for frequent travel and at short notice when required Proven experience in leading, motivating and developing a team Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP, HACCP and FSSC 22000 requirements. Experience leading quality investigations and root cause analysis Experience managing customer complaints, adverse events , non-conformances and quality assurance processes within a manufacturing environment. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple activities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the business. Good understanding of various manufacturing technologies, such as dry powder blending, can/sachet filling, aseptic liquid processing, infant nutrition requirements, and zoning Desirable Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies Auditing Experience (Supporting or Leading) Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI. Understanding of validation activities (cleaning, heat treatment, shelf-life, verification programmes) What we offer?
