Located in Hampstead, Gilden's Art Gallery specialises in Modern Fine Art of the early 20th century. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Gallery Assistant.
You will be responsible for:
- The day-to-day running of the gallery - Face-to-face dealing with clients at the gallery. - Preparation for Art Fairs - Organising transports - Arranging for the importation of artworks
- Installation of exhibitions in the gallery as well as at Art Fairs - Gallery administration: Uploading to platforms, maintaining platforms, Social media and photography of artworks. - Packing artworks.
The successful candidate will hold at least a bachelor’s degree in History of Art or a similar qualification. He/She will be an ambitious individual who has excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in one or several other languages will be advantageous. Prior experience as a gallery assistant/Intern or auction coordinator would be an advantage, as well as prior knowledge of original prints and works on paper of the Modern era. Availability to work 5 days per week including at the weekend when necessary.
