Role Title:Basic Grade Radiographer Job Reference Number:002482 Closing Date:Sunday, 12th July 2026 Purpose of the Role: To provide a quality radiographic service to patients in line with standards of radiography practice General Provide a high standard of radiographic work.

Care for patients whilst in their area.
Explain to patients about their procedures, times of procedures, likely delays and how patients will receive reports of examinations.
Ensure working area under their care is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Report any malfunction of apparatus or equipment to the senior in charge of the area or superintendent.
Participate in the on-call rota and stand-by duties.
Participate in the training of students or other staff if appropriate.
Relate to and communicate with all other staff in a courteous and helpful manner at all times.
Ensure urgent cases are facilitated as required and a focused service is provided at all times.
Have a flexible approach to work.
Any other duties as assigned by the Radiographic Services Manager.
Professional Ensure every patient is treated as an individual and provided with a high quality service in terms of courtesy, kindness, technical quality and efficiency.
Attend relevant postgraduate courses as appropriate.
Actively seek to keep up to date with changes in radiographic techniques and professional practices.
Assist with the quality assurance programme.
Ensure appropriate radiation protection is used and radiation dose to staff and patients is kept to a minimum.
Be aware of the local radiation protection rules.
Conform to regulations regarding uniforms and protective clothing.
Adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct for Radiographers.
Participate and cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements in relation to Health and Safety as outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 and the Hospital Safety Statement.
Ensure own mandatory learning and training is kept up to date.
Be familiar with the following: Patients charter.
Health and Safety Regulations.
Required: Statuary Registration, Professional Qualification and/or Relevant Experience Candidates for appointment must: Be registered on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.
Or Currently a final year student leading to successful completion of a qualification approved by the Radiographer Registration Board at CORU and who will be eligible to apply as a newly qualified graduate for CORU registration in 2026.
Or Applicants who satisfied the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, must submit proof of application for registration with the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.
The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU confirming the current status of their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant.
And Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of duties of the office.
Annual Registration: On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the relevant division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.
And Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
And Radiographic skills to provide a comprehensive service to patients in area of assignment.
Working knowledge of radiation protection legislation and guidelines.
Practical application of best practice guidelines and protocols in Radiography.
